The topics each biennium is arranged into are: General Correspondence, ULCA Auxiliaries, ULCA Synods, Inter-Lutheran Cooperation (national and international), and Interdenominational Cooperation (national and international). The papers contain correspondence, newsclippings, reports, statements, memoranda, meeting agendas and schedules, invitations, financial reports, bulletins, telegrams, and news releases. The papers reflect Fry's involvement as President of the ULCA in the World Council of Churches, National Lutheran Council, Lutheran World Relief, Lutheran World Action, Lutheran World Federation, and National Council of Churches of Christ in the U.S.A. They also reflect the growing interest in Lutheran unity in the United States culminating with the merger in 1960 of The American Lutheran Church and the 1962 ULCA merger with the Augustana Lutheran Church, the American Evangelical Lutheran Church, and the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Church to form the Lutheran Church in America.
